The only rules are that there are no rules! Which means ... the next great Bat flick ('cause you know there's gonna be one) could be about that time Batman turned into a tiger!

When Batman is unable to save a young girl because of his own physical limitations, he gives in to taking an addictive performance enhancing drug called "Venom." Batman has a lot of rules. This would make a great emotional journey that shows just how badly he needs those rules.
After a bombing at Wayne Enterprises, Batman hunts down the terrorist responsible. Great concept made greater because the terrorist, Jennifer Blake, is played even more sympathetically than Batman himself. Certainly still relevant for today's audience.
Batman is kidnapped by a cult and brainwashed by the charismatic Deacon Blackfire. Can Bruce Wayne ever justify murder? This could make a great film about religious fanaticism and what truly defines "justice" in modern civilization.
One Halloween night, a grizzly murder is committed. It becomes the first of a string, all on holidays. A who-dunnit that tears Gotham apart and probably one of the greatest all time Batman stories ever, it's a no-brainer for this list just because it's so good.
Victorian-era Batman takes on a Jack the Ripper copy cat? All this real-life stuff is great, but don't we really need an elseworlds period piece that gives us something completely different? We think so.
When Bruce Wayne attempts to rebuild Gotham, he comes up against a secret society called the Court of Owls. With their army of immortal assassins, the Talon, the Court are deadly scary and would make great enemies in a feature film.
A twist! Instead of Batman, the next best thing is Batwoman. Kate Kane, dishonorably discharged from the military for being gay, becomes a costumed vigilante and takes on her own twin sister, a twisted, Joker-esque version of herself. One of the best comics ever written, it is the film that would revolutionize the Bat-franchise forever.
