Falling Skies gets its own talk show (hosted by Wil Wheaton!)

Two very different sci-fi alien series will collide this summer, as Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Big Bang Theory) is set to host a new talk show based on TNT's hit invasion drama Falling Skies.

Dubbed 2nd Watch, the 15-minute weekly online series will debut June 17 at 11 p.m. ET on FallingSkies.com, following the East Coast premiere of Falling Skies' second season.

Some of Wesley Crusher Wheaton's guests this season will include series stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Maxim Knight, Connor Jessup, Colin Cunningham, Sarah Sanguine Carter, Mpho Koaho and Peter Shinkoda. Producers Greg Beeman and Remi Aubuchon; consulting producer Mark Verheiden; and producers Bradley Thompson and David Weddle will also be popping in from time to time.

AMC has had similar success with a similiar format, having just renewed its popular Walking Dead-based series Talking Dead for a second season.

Sound off: Do you enjoy the talk shows built around these series, or is it all a little overkill?
