Lucasfim finally spills some info on the mysterious Star Wars 1313

A few weeks ago, we heard about a few new domain registrations from LucasArts that pointed us to a mystery project, rumored to be a videogame, known only as Star Wars 1313. Now the folks at LucasArts have decided it's time to tell us more ... but not much more.

We now know that 1313 is definitely a videogame, but LucasArts hasn't revealed too much more. Along with a bit of art for the game, the company's revealed that it will be a "mature" title featuring "exotic weaponry" and the player will be pursuing targets while trying to "uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy."

The "1313" of the title apparently refers to Level 1313, a setting for the game. Based on the art, and the premise, that could be a reference to an underworld-ravaged level of the planet-sized city of Coruscant, but of course it could just as easily be something else. The Imperial shuttle in the image above also implies we could be seeing a game set in the era of the original trilogy. We do know that it's definitely a grown-up game, and you'll definitely get to shoot stuff.

LucasArts is bringing all the talents of Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound and Lucasfilm Animation to bear on the project, so we'll be eagerly awaiting the next details of the game, which are set to be revealed next week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.
