Matt Smith says he's never gonna leave Doctor Who. Not until ...

For the past two years (and almost three seasons now), Matt Smith has delighted us as the Eleventh Doctor on Doctor Who. But you know how things go: People are already speculating as to when Smith will leave the series to make room for Doctor number 12—except that Matt Smith has no intention of leaving. Ever. Or does he?

In a lengthy interview with Life of Wylie about his newest project, titled Bert And Dickie (it's about the real-life story of two young men who came from different backgrounds and came together as a rowing team to participate in the 1948 London Olympics), Smith spoke about how long he actually plans to remain on board the TARDIS.

"Forever. 50 years. I'm loving making it. I think we've got one of our strongest seasons yet coming up. I really do. We go into the 50th year all guns blazing. And I'll be around. So ... that's it, really."

Now, forever is a very long time, even for a time-traveling Time Lord from Gallifrey. But in the meanwhile, you guys know what that means, right? It means more fezzes, Stetsons and bow ties. And that's totally cool with us.

What do you guys think? Do you believe Matt Smith will stay put as the Doctor beyond Doctor Who's 50th-anniversary bash in 2013, or do you think the prophesied ''Fall of the Eleventh'' will bring forth the Twelfth Doctor?
