Marvel exec offers Lucas $1,732.27 to bring back Howard the Duck

George Lucas' 1986 sci-fi comedy Howard the Duck is remembered as one of the most colossal flops in Hollywood history. It was so bad that its 25th anniversary came and went last year with nary a peep of a Blu-ray reissue. Well, one Marvel exec thinks that's a crying shame—and is offering Lucas some cold, hard cash to bring him back.

Though Howard the Duck was a massive failure, it was one of the first Marvel movies ever (where's his Avengers cameo?), and it's gained some fans over the years for being so-bad-it's-good.

Marvel Entertainment COO Joe Quesada thinks the time is right to bring Howard back to life with a Blu-ray reissue—and to that end he put together a hilarious YouTube skit, wrapped up with a heartfelt appeal to Lucas, to give the plucky duck a second chance.

To sweeten the pot, he even offers Lucas a check for $1,732.27. Who could say no to that?

Do you think it's a duckin' shame that Howard the Duck's 25th anniversary was mostly ignored?
