Hear the Lizard speak for the 1st time in new Spider-Man footage

Apart from some video snippets and a few bits of concept art, The Amazing Spider-Man's take on the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) has been kept pretty well under wraps—but now we're finally getting to see (and hear) a bit more of the new Big Bad.

A new featurette has been released explaining the steps Marc Webb and company went through to bring the iconic baddie to the big screen.

In addition to some new looks at his infamous snout, we finally get to hear the Lizard's angry, raspy voice as he terrorizes Manhattan after escaping Oscorp labs. It's a pretty cool sound, and definitely has that reptilian drawl that makes it even creepier.

Check out the new footage below!

The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3.

Sound off: Do you like the Lizard's look (and sound)?
