FlashForward star checks into American Horror Story's psych ward

It's no secret that American Horror Story is about to get crazier. Over the past few months, the series has added several new faces to its cast. And today we've learned that another actor is signing on for a pivotal role.

Entertainment Weekly reports that former FlashForward and Camelot star Joseph Fiennes is joining the cast of AHS. The highly anticipated second season already stars Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and newcomers James Cromwell, Adam Levine and Chloe Sevigny.

According to the site, Fiennes will "play the head of the institution for the criminally insane where star Jessica Lange works." He'll also be her love interest and they'll have a May/December romance. But aside from his occupation and connection to Lange, not much is known about him. His character is simply described as "tortured."

If Fiennes portrays a disturbed individual, this could be a prime example of a lunatic running an asylum.

What do you think of Fiennes joining the cast of AHS? Looking forward to it?
