Farmer says 250 of his cows have been killed by an alien death ray

Lots of people claim odd encounters with aliens. They say that invaders from space flew over their car or entered their bedroom in the middle of the night. But a farmer in Canada has an even more WTF version of events: Aliens have used a "death beam" to kill at least 250 of his cattle in the past 10 years, and he's had to take the blame.

Earlier this week New Brunswick rancher Werner Bock was hauled into court on charges of failing to give his dying cattle proper medical attention. The Canadian government claims Bock failed to feed the animals and failed to care for them when they began to suffer the effects of malnutrition. But Bock claims there's a conspiracy afoot.

According to Bock, the cows are dying because of alien "death rays" that are being covered up by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Bock's been documenting the effects of the death ray on his cattle via YouTube for quite some time, and he believes he knows exactly how the weapon works.

"At least 250 head of cattle have died from what we call a death beam," Bock said in a video from last spring. "Where the atmospheric air is manipulated into a death beam, focused on the noses of the animals."

According to Bock, the animals can't avoid the manipulated air focused on them, and they slowly die from the effects.

When he spoke at a pre-trial hearing Monday, Bock even claimed he had witnesses, but the judge presiding over his case assured him the witnesses he wanted to call would only testify against them. The witnesses, apparently, were a vet that previously assured Bock his animals had not been burned by a death ray, and a police officer who assured him that no alien craft have flown over his property.

Bock's trial is scheduled to begin in September. In the meantime, you can delve into his alien death beam conspiracy claims through YouTube videos like this one:

Bizarre bluegrass performance of Super Mario Bros. theme song

Nothing that makes us feel like kids again and has us itching to touch our joysticks more than hearing that old Super Mario Brothers theme song. Suddenly we're back in the basement and jumping for gold coins once more. When that song is performed by the bluegrass band The Cleverlys, though, we feel a bit weird. But in a GOOD way.
