6 comic book storylines we'd love to see in a Justice League film
Now that the word is out that a Justice League flick might finally get made, we can't help but go digging through our comics collection in search of the most cinematic adventures of DC Comics' band of super friends.
OK, so if a Justice League movie does get made, odds are it'll be an original story with no ties to any one particular comic book incarnation of the superteam, but the League's been in business in one form or another since 1960. That's a lot of comics, so you can't really blame us for picturing how at least a few of them would play out on the big screen.
Check out our picks for League adventures that deserve the Hollywood treatment, and let us know your own.

The Final Night (1996): When a giant force of cosmic destruction consumes the sun and plunges Earth into cold darkness, the Justice League must team up with unlikely allies to bring light to the world again. Definitely a big enough threat for the big screen.
New World Order (1997): A band of super-powered beings arrives from space and quickly upstages the Justice League in the public eye, but Earth's heroes realize the planet's new saviors are up to something more sinister. Full-scale superbeing-vs.-superbeing action.
Day of Judgment (1999): When the spirit of vengeance known as the Spectre is left without a host, a renegade angel takes it over and begins to lay waste to the planet. As usual, it's up to the Justice League to stop it. This story offers a great opportunity to introduce moviegoers to many of the League's more obscure members alongside the top-shelf heroes.
Tower of Babel (2000): Paranoid detective that he is, Batman has secretly assembled plans for how to defeat every other member of the Justice League in case of emergency. Ra's al Ghul gets hold of the plans, and suddenly it's up to the Dark Knight to save his fellow heroes from his own schemes. It's a story that uses the already-potent cinematic draw of Batman to introduce the rest of the League to audiences.
Justice 2005-2007: The members of the Legion of Doom begin to suffer recurring nightmares that the world will be destroyed after the Justice League fails to save it. In response, they begin solving all the world's problems to court public opinion and lure the League into a trap. It's a showcase for both the League and DC's considerable stable of supervillains.
Final Crisis (2008): One of the DC Universe's most potent evil forces, Darkseid, prepares for his final victory by gathering an army of supervillains to him and trying to unmake reality itself. The Justice League is all that stands in his way. It's one of the weirdest adventures the League's ever had, but it's also one of the most ambitious.
