1st tantalizing promo image for Shyamalan's After Earth

His last few sci-fi efforts may have been a bit hit or miss, but M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming flick After Earth still has a lot of buzz thanks to stars Will and Jaden Smith—and we finally have our first look at a promo image from the mysterious project.

We get our first (very distant) peek at the creepy, empty future Earth, with the moon lined up below it in orbit. Plus, we also get to see the film's industrial-style (and oddly Battleship Troopers-esque) logo.

The promo graphic for the film was released, along with a few others, in a larger graphic rounded up by Collider. The pic was shown off at a licensing expo that kicks off next week in Las Vegas.

Here is the very brief synopsis for After Earth, set for release sometime in 2013:

Set 1000 years in the future, a boy navigates an abandoned Earth to save himself and his estranged father after their ship crashes.
