What short-lived sci-fi series might Netflix bring back from the dead?

Apparently, in this new digital media age—much as in horror fiction—the dead don't always stay dead. CBS' post-apocalyptic drama Jericho, which went off the air back in 2008, might just get another improbable chance at life.

After already resuscitating Fox's Emmy-winning and viewer-starved Arrested Development, Netflix is targeting another series that is performing very well on its streaming service: Skeet Ulrich's Jericho. If it comes to pass—and that's a very big if, since Netflix has only just reached out to CBS to explore the possibility—it will be the second time Jericho has been rescued from certain doom. (You remember, of course, the fan-driven peanut campaign that earned the show a second season.)

It remains to be seen whether the cast can be corralled for a third season, this many years after its cancellation: Lennie James was cast in the ABC fall pilot Gotham, but Ulrich seems to be unattached to much of anything at the present; same goes for Ashley Scott.

But, hey, it seems that these days, anything's possible when it comes to dead-and-gone TV shows.
