And then there was that time Spock hung out with Jimi Hendrix ...

Throughout his 81 years, Leonard Nimoy has done a lot of things. Between being a beloved actor for his role as Spock in Star Trek and dabbling in everything from writing to photography over the years, he is a generally awesome guy. But he just got even cooler.

In a lengthy sit-down with the folks over at Hero Complex, Nimoy opened up about his thoughts on acting and looks back at his experiences with Trek. He also touches on his brief music career and spills the details of the time he met the late, great guitar virtuoso Jimi Hendrix.

Apparently, while Nimoy was cutting some tunes in the late 1960s, Hendrix dropped by for a meet and greet, and Spock himself geeked out over meeting the rock legend. The meeting turned out to be a timely one, as Hendrix died just a few months later.

Nimoy talks about the experience at about the 10-minute mark in the video below, but the whole clip is definitely worth a look.
