The CW's Green Arrow series considered a 'lock' for pick-up

Good news, Green Arrow fans: With The CW desperate for a hit to replace all those Smallville viewers, the odds have gone from good to great that Arrow will be gracing the small screen soon.

In a pilot season update, The Hollywood Reporter notes that the dark, gritty adaptation of the Green Arrow comic is virtually a "lock" to be picked up for a first season order. The series stars Stephen Arnell as the uber-archer, battling crime on all fronts.

We shouldn't have to wait too long for the news to become official, as TV upfront presentations—where networks show off their wares—are set to begin in about two weeks.

The full list also features a few other interesting tidbits: J.J. Abrams' Revolution at NBC is looking good, along with CBS' Sherlock Holmes reboot Elementary. Shawn Ryan's ABC military sci-fi-ish drama Last Resort also has a lot of buzz, but the spectacular failure of The River is apparently hurting its chances.

Sound off: Are you looking forward to potentially seeing any of these series in the fall?
