Black Ops II is a direct sequel that plays out inside a fictional second Cold War during the year 2025 in an international battle for rare earth elements. Players take on the role of David Mason, son of Alex Mason, the previous game's hero. Screenwriter David Goyer (The Dark Knight, Superman: Man of Steel) helped the Treyarch team develop the time-warping tale, so expect a few twists from the Prince of Darkness.

And yes, there will be a space zombie mode. Far out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II attacks on Nov. 13, 2012.
