Oops! See BBC mistakenly air Halo logo while reporting on the UN
When you're tossing together a news report, the Internet is the perfect resource to grab those obscure government logos and placeholder clip art—just make sure you don't snag a fictional one from the Halo universe instead.
In a report discussing a conflict in Syria, which referenced the United Nations Security Council, the BBC accidentally popped up the logo for Halo's fictional United Nations Space Command. Oops.
I think it's safe to say that if the United Nations Space Command is involved, confrontation has definitely escalated.
The graphic was replaced in later broadcasts, and the BBC released a statement owning up to the mistake.
"BBC News makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all images broadcast, however very occasionally mistakes do happen," a spokesperson said. "Unfortunately an incorrect logo was used during a segment on last week's News at One bulletin and we apologise to viewers for the mistake."
