Sneak Peek: Marvel's controversial X-Men same-sex wedding comic

Last week, not to be outdone by DC's announcement that it's about to turn a character gay, Marvel confirmed its first-ever same sex superhero wedding in the pages of Astonishing X-Men #51. Now we've got a sneak peek of the issue, and the wedding guests are gathering.

After a proposal in the pages of Astonishing X-Men #50 earlier this month, X-Man Northstar and his longtime boyfriend Kyle Jinadu will tie the knot in the next issue, hitting comic shops June 20. The web's been buzzing with divided opinions over the issue, and Marvel's surely hoping the continued buzz will generated a big sales boost to go along with it.

You won't be able to check out the full issue for three more weeks, but we've got three different covers and four pages for you today. The issue is written by Marjorie Liu and features interior art by Mike Perkins along with covers by Dustin Weaver, Marko Djurdjevic and Phil Noto.

Check out the art below. What do you think? Are you adding this one to your pull list, if only for the history?
