4 massive new Dark Knight Rises banners show Gotham in ruin

Where's a street sweeper when you need it? Thanks to Bane and his legion of followers, Gotham has gone to hell in a handbasket. Judging by the latest banners from The Dark Knight Rises, Batman is the only thing standing between the city and complete chaos.

This week, Warner Bros. has hit us with several promotional images from TDKR. First, we saw Gotham go up in flames, followed by six character posters showcasing Batman, Catwoman and Bane. In this latest batch, the trio is surrounded by a city in ruin. Seriously, Gotham is in shambles!

Once again, the sequel and posters carry the tagline "The Legend Ends." Isn't it ironic that for the legend to end, the Dark Knight must rise? If that's not foreboding we don't know what is.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman/Selina Kyle.

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20.
