1st look at Revolution, J.J. Abrams' end-of-the-world epic

It's the end of the world—and J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke know it. That's why the sci-fi fantasy duo have teamed up for the new drama Revolution. The show recently received a series pickup from NBC, as well as an official cast photo.

What would happen if there were no electricity? Could you survive? That's the question posed to the cast of Revolution, who are forced to live without. In their post-apocalyptic world, the Internet, phones, lights and even cars cease to function. That's no way to live—or is it?

Revolution is headlined by Twilight dad Billy Burke, Breaking Bad and Once Upon a Time's Giancarlo Esposito and Ringer's Andrea Roth. Other cast members include Tracy Spiridakos (Syfy's Being Human), Graham Rogers and Anna Lise Phillips.

When looking at this photo, does anyone else get a Jericho/Terra Nova vibe with a touch of Firefly? The overall tone feels very familiar.

Revolution will be written by Kripke, produced by Abrams and directed by Jon Favreau. How fanboyish can one show get?

What do you think of the Revolution cast? Will you be tuning in?
