Forbes reveals which sci-fi character is richer than Tony Stark

It takes a lot of green to afford a place like Wayne Manor, or to generate something as awesome as an Iron Man suit in the privacy of your own home, or to keep an entire clan of vampires secret and comfortable for decades. Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark and Twilight's Carlisle Cullen are all filthy rich, but there's one fictional character who's got more dough than all of them combined.

Yes, it's that time of year again: time for the financial gurus at Forbes to release their "Fictional 15," a list of the wealthiest fictional characters ever, and make us all feel monumentally poor.

So who topped the list? Cullen was the leader in 2010, only to be bumped from the top spot last year by Scrooge McDuck (yes, really). This year, though, the richest make-believe billionaire is someone who lives a little ... larger.

Topping Forbes' 2012 list is Smaug, the great dragon from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, with a whopping $62 billion. It definitely pays to steal a mountain full of gold from some dwarves and live out your days on a pile of coins ... at least for a while. Cullen fell back to number three, behind Smaug and Flintheart Glomgold (The World's Richest Duck with $51.9 billion), with $36.3 billion.

But don't worry, comics fans. Both Stark and Wayne still made the list. Stark came in at #5 with $9.3 billion, while Wayne came in eighth with $6.9 billion. And there's a genre newcomer to the list in the form of Game of Thrones' Twyin Lannister, whose inherited wealth and sound financial philosophy of always paying his debts left him with $2.1 billion.

Check out the full list below and ponder what exactly happened in the financial lives of people like Scrooge McDuck and Watchmen's Ozymandias (who surely must be getting at least some of that DC prequel money).
