Wait, Leonard Nimoy might be back for Abrams' Star Trek 2?

We've been hearing a lot of buzz that J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel would further distance itself from The Original Series, meaning that Spock cameo from the first film was a one-time thing. Apparently not, at least according to Leonard Nimoy.

Old Spock himself was on CNN this weekend talking about the NASA shuttle Enterprise, and the hosts couldn't help but ask about Nimoy's role in the reboot, and whether he'd come back again. That's when things got interesting.

"We're talking, we're talking," Nimoy said.

To add even more smoke to the fire, frequent Ain't It Cool News contributor Merrick is saying he has it on very good authority that Nimoy will "absolutely" be back in some capacity. As most Trek fans know, Old Spock was last seen helping establish a new Vulcan colony, after his home planet had been destroyed.

Sound off: Would you like to see more classic Trek players pop up in Abrams' sandbox?
