Samuel L Jackson teases details of a standalone S.H.I.E.L.D. movie

You know what we'd really love to see after that Avengers movie? A film starring Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. Yeah, we know we've got Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2 already on the horizon to look forward to (and we're really excited about all of 'em)—but a movie with Nick Fury? Now that would be badass.

When told, Sam "the Man" Jackson seemed a bit surprised to know that a lot of people would love to see him in a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie. But the actor isn't so sure that the film should only be about his character. Here's what he told MTV:

"Natasha is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hawkeye is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I couldn't do a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie without those two people. They're essential elements of what's there. Now we know Agent [Maria] Hill is an essential element of S.H.I.E.L.D. so she would have to be there. And I'm still not sure if she's the eyes and ears of the council hanging around inside their place and telling people, 'We've got these superheroes over here!' She wants my job. I can tell. She's ambitious."

"I don't know how much of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Marvel] want[s] to expose...I mean, we're not superheroes. We're more of a shadow world. So, it would be more like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with good toys—closer to a Bond movie than a superhero movie."

Does that sound any good to you? Would you love to have a S.H..I.E.L.D. movie with Nick Fury next?

In the meanwhile, you can all catch Jackson in The Avengers when the movie assembles on screen on May 4.
