Ruffalo is signed on for HOW MANY Marvel films as The Hulk?

In a new interview promoting The Avengers, Mark Ruffalo has spilled on just how many films are included in his Marvel contract as the Hulk—and rumor has it that one could be a solo flick.

Ruffalo told Collider that he is officially locked in for six Marvel films, and said he "definitely" hopes they keep him around for as long as possible.

"The experience was great, it was fun, and I love that group of people," he said.

The news that Ruffalo is locked in for six films is even more interesting when you take into account a comment from Marvel marketing exec Paul Gitter, who said if Ruffalo's Bruce Banner is a hit, he'll have a solo film by 2015—despite recent comments that a new Hulk film was not in the cards.

Per a Forbes interview with Gitter:

If Hulk's successful turnaround continues, Gitter says Marvel "will spin him off to a stand-alone program next year," supported by a big budget franchise movie in 2015. The entertainment studio is also exploring ways to promote Hulk as a "corporate icon," similar to MetLife's usage of Peanuts' Snoopy, where The Hulk's image conveys a message about channeling strength to overcome workplace challenges.

The Hulk has had two recent shots at big-screen glory, though both efforts fell short of expectations, and Marvel is apparently iffy to try again. But, who knows, maybe the third time is the charm?
