Someone's coming back for the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who, and while we all kinda knew it would happen, we're still very excited about it. Can you guess who it is? Of course you can! Still, we have to warn you: Shhhhh, spoilers!
According to Doctor Who TV, the Doctor Who team has just arrived in the Big Apple to shoot some scenes for the fifth episode of season seven this week.
Set to join them for some good ol' Doctor Who action is (of course)
Melody Pond River Song herself, played by the wonderful Alex Kingston, fresh from a stint on the second season of the BBC's period drama Upstairs, Downstairs.
Well, really, It was kind of a no-brainer that River Song was going to show up for her parents' very last hurrah on the series, but we're glad that Mrs. Robinson (River's nickname, given to her by Matt Smith's Doctor) is indeed back nonetheless.
Also, a casting call has apparently been sent out and they are looking for a photo double (who is required to drive) for Alex Kingston. The former ER actress is, however, gonna be on set herself for scenes very soon.
That's sorta mysterious, don't you think? Will there be two River Songs? And of course, let's not forget that River generated as a little girl in New York City at the end of "Day of the Moon." We wonder how significant it will be.
We just hope that with the departure of the Ponds (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darville) in this episode, and the arrival of the new Who companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman in the following one (it'll be the Christmas special), we won't have to say goodbye to River Song as well.
What do you guys think? Will the end of the Ponds also mean the end of River Song?
