Rodriguez says long-delayed Sin City sequel's finally getting made

It's been nearly seven years since Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez's comic noir masterpiece Sin City was released, which led most of us to believe the oft-rumored sequel may have been put so far on the back burner that it might not be found. Not so, according to Rodriguez.

In a SXSW interview, Rodriguez told The Hollywood Reporter that Sin City 2 is back on track and should finally go into production this summer.

The original film, based on the seminal Frank Miller graphic novel, was a veritable who's who of awesome actors—starring Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Benicio Del Toro, Elijah Wood, Jessica Alba and about a million other people.

No word yet on who may star in the sequel, though Rodriguez notes the star power would be "of the same caliber and eclecticism," so who knows?

But, what we do know are (some) of the stories Rodriguez plans to tell. In a Comic Con interview last year, he told MovieWeb the sequel will be based on the Sin City comic storyline "A Dame to Kill For," plus two brand-new stories written by Frank Miller. He has also hinted that he wants the new film to serve as both a prequel and sequel, weaving together storylines from before and after the original story.

What do you think? Are you ready for some more Sin City?
