Spielberg confirms the one thing we wish he hadn't about Jurassic 4

If you, like us, were hoping to see Steven Spielberg back in the director's chair for Jurassic Park 4, you can stop now, because the War Horse and Tintin director has confirmed that he's not taking the gig.

However—and it's a small consolation prize—the famous director says that he'll at least be back as the film's producer. Better than nothing, right?

While speaking to Collider, the director mostly kept mum about the fourth entry into the massively successful Jurassic Park franchise (which we've all been waiting for, like, forever):

"I don't want to talk about Jurassic Park 4 yet—it's too early—but I can tell you that I'm not directing it. I'm producing it, though."

Also, next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the first Jurassic Park film. Which begs the question: Will JP4 be released in time to mark the anniversary? And will it be a reboot or a true sequel? "I can't say,'' Spielberg replied. ''I will when the time is right, but for now I can't talk about it."

While producer Kathleen Kennedy has hinted in the past that the next installment in the successful dino-filled franchise may be in 3D, Spielberg also refused to confirm that tiny itsy-bitsy slice of information.

Are you disappointed that Steven Spielberg won't be directing Jurassic Park 4? Who would you want to see in the director's chair?
