Visit Coruscant's seedy underbelly in new Star Wars 1313 clip

Everything we've heard about the upcoming Star Wars 1313 videogame seems to indicate it's the dark, grounded tale we've been wanting ever since the prequel films hit. Judging by this new gameplay footage, it looks like the wait could be worth it.

A new gameplay trailer has been released, showing off some pretty heavy action set pieces and a fantastic graphics engine that looks more than capable of bringing the underbelly of Coruscant (home planet of the Jedi council) to life.

The storyline is set between Episodes III and IV, following a bounty hunter going underground (both figuratively and literally) as he peels back the layers of political intrigue and conspiracies only hinted at on the big screen. To put it bluntly: It looks absolutely fantastic.

If you need a refresher, here's the synopsis:

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.
