Star Trek's seductive Borg Queen nabs a Thor 2 role (but which?)

One of Star Trek's sexiest actress is heading to Thor: The Dark World—because the Borg Queen herself, actress Alice Krige, has nabbed a role in the upcoming Marvel Thor sequel.

According to CBM, during this weekend's Star Trek Las Vegas convention, the 58-year-old actress, who appeared as the Borg Queen on Star Trek: First Contact and the Star Trek: Voyager two-part series finale ''Endgame,'' apparently revealed she had landed a small role in next year's Marvel tentpole.

Filming for The Dark World is all set up to start later this month, with ex-Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston confirmed as playing Malekith the Accursed, ruler of Svartalfheim.

So what small role could the sexy former Borg Queen play?

Speculations are that she could be playing Alflyse, the Queen of the Dark Elves and the Svartalfheim realm.

According to ScreenRant:

The character appeared in a Hercules-Thor comic book crossover storyline, where Hercules disguises himself as the God of Thunder to confront the Elves at Alflyse's castle. Herc's plan doesn't exactly go the way he expected as he ends up bedding Alflyse, being appointed her husband (as well as the new King of Svartalfheim), and leading an invasion of Midgard and Asgard. Thor manages to sort the whole thing out, thanks to a heads-up from the Warriors Three.

(Don't worry, they're not gonna go down that route with Thor: The Dark World, guys.)

Alice Krige did confirm she was in the movie in a minor role and that she wouldn't be all that recognizable in the film, possibly meaning prosthetics and heavy makeup. Which would fit the character bill, as you can see below. Remember the heavy makeup the Frost Giants were sporting on Thor? They could do the same here.

The other role the actress could also be playing is that of Hela, an Asgardian goddess (who also happens to be Loki's daughter), who is ruler of the spirits of the dead. But that one's pure speculation on our part. It could fit the bill, and could be a minor appearance just like Thanos' during The Avengers' mid-credits.

(Thanos, Hela, death. Interesting connection there. Just saying.)

However, we think we'll place our hard-earned gold on Alice Krige being Alflyse. Do you agree?

Directed by Alan Taylor, Thor: The Dark World will hit theaters on Nov. 8, 2013.
