Zachary Levi regains superhero role Chuck cost him in Marvel sequel

With his time as a dorky superspy long over, Chuck fans have been wondering what Zachary Levi's next move would be. Turns out his next role might very well be taking over in a part that, ironically, could've been his in the first place.

Okay, here's the deal: Once upon a time, Levi was in line to play Fandral, one of the Warriors Three in 2011's Thor, but he had to relinquish the role when Chuck got the green light to shoot its final season—leaving a vacancy for Josh Dallas to slide into.

Now, Thor 2 is scheduled to start shooting next month, but Dallas has found himself in similar genre-TV shackles: His role as Prince Charming on ABC's hit drama Once Upon a Time will prevent him from returning as Fandral. As he told Entertainment Weekly:

"I'll be missing out on wearing all that hair. ... The timing wasn't right. I'm bummed about it because I had such a great experience and great time making the first film and was really excited about coming back. Marvel and Disney tried to make it work. But because of my commitment to Once Upon a Time, I was not going to be able to do both. So I'll have to hand the reins over to someone else."

And that someone else could be Levi, who is in early negotiations to take over the role ... that used to be his. Fate, she works in mysterious ways.
