So this is when we'll get to see Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show

Comic and TV creator Jeph Loeb was being interviewed about his latest comic project recently when he let slip some big news in the form of when we can expect to see the premiere of Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series.

Excited? You should be. Considering the talent involved and how busy Whedon and company tend to be working on, well, just about every cool project in sight, there were fears we'd never see S.H.I.E.L.D. make its way to our TV screens. Turns out we'll be seeing it sooner than any of us could have hoped. From Loeb:

Well ... we have a "little" pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!

That puts us less than a year out. Not only does that mean the show is coming soon, it also means lots more teasers, casting news, trailers and who knows what else. So stay tuned!
