While we're still living, breathing, bleeding and dying in Westeros (and Essos) with the second season of Game of Thrones, casting calls have already been sent out by raven for the upcoming third season of the hit HBO series. And a fish answered the call.
We just love being cryptic like that. On to the news.
A leaked audition tape (which has since sadly been deleted) popped up online yesterday and proceeded to send the Internet world all aflutter, confirming that Edmure Tully—who is Catelyn Stark's (Michelle Fairley) brother in the books—will finally be making his long-awaited appearance in the third season of Game of Thrones.
The guy who read for the audition was apparently an Irish actor named Tom Sullivan. Edmure Tully is a character that first appeared way back when in the first book of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels, but he was sadly cut from both seasons one and two.
Looks like HBO'll be rectifying that at last, which should make fans like us really happy.
The inclusion of Edmure Tully on the show probably means quite a few other exciting things as well: We'll probably get to see Riverrun at long last along with Cat's dad, Hoster Tully; and maybe, just maybe, we'll also get to see the famous Blackfish (Brynden Tully, uncle to both Catelyn and Edmure).
Now, wouldn't that be great?
So what do you guys think? Excited about Edmure Tully finally making his long-awaited appearance on Game of Thrones?
