Underworld: Awakening hits theaters Friday, and a lot of fans are hoping this flick will rejuvenate the vampire vs. werewolf franchise. Kate Beckinsale didn't even think a fourth flick would happen, but now that it has, she says she's "fond" enough of her character that she can't rule out another run in that tight black bodysuit.
In a new interview to promote the film, Beckinsale was asked about the possibility of a fifth edition of the franchise. The ending, apparently, leaves things open for another installment, and Beckinsale herself certainly seems open to return.
"I'm the worst person to ask about this. I always said there was not going to be a fourth one, so you can't trust what I say at all," she said. "Playing the same character over and over again does seem a bit odd, but I am very fond of the character and other people are pretty fond of her, too. So, who knows?"
That's far from a yes, but it's certainly pretty far from a no as well, so it will probably all come down to box office. If Awakening takes in a good haul, Beckinsale will probably be invited to pick her guns one more time. If not, this vamp franchise might finally be staked.
