Watch the bloody 1st scene of the new Spartacus: Vengeance season

For viewers uncertain about how the show would deal with the death of star Andy Whitfield, perhaps this look at how the new Spartacus, Liam McIntyre, acquits himself will go a long way to ease those doubts—because he seems at ease slicing through all comers in this chunk of swords-and-sandals bloodletting.

Spartacus: Vengeance picks up exactly where Spartacus: Blood and Sand left off—and given that the title of that season finale was "Kill Them All," it's not too hard to figure out why Spartacus and friends are on the run.

Is it weird that the thought that stuck with me after watching this was "Gee, those wounds are gonna get really infected"?
