1st trailer for Prometheus promises epic alien thrills

In what feels like a movie-marketing first, here's a warmup for the first full trailer for Ridley Scott's science fiction flick—and we get our first looks at Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and freaky alien goo in action.

"So here we are ... I'm back again" is how Scott kicks off this strange little piece of advertising, which seems to star the director as much as anything he's directed. But I don't particularly care. What brief flashes of Prometheus we do get look fantastic.

Face melting! Specimen examining! Doors opening! People screaming! We'll get a better sense of why all those things are happening when the real trailer hits Apple (which also has the HD version of this teaselet) on Thursday, but for now, excitement is afoot.
