Rumor of the Day: Is Jason Statham a go for Transformers 4?

Sounds like the new Transformers movie is powering up fast and adding some serious British muscle to its robot roster. First Michael Bay may return for another turn, and now a series of vague tweets by a T3 alum could point straight to that brawny Transporter dude.

This week, Tyrese Gibson and fellow Transformers 3 cast brother Ken Jeong both tweeted with excited yet covert references that an actor with the initials "J.S." is headed to the franchise family.

Is this the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels evidence we've been looking for? Have a read:

Hmm, so as Tyrese tweeted, "JS is up next" and Jeong replies with "JS baby!!!" Seems a likely match to us, veiled though the facts may be. Tyrese quickly tried to stomp out the reference after the flames of rumor started crackling in the Twitter-verse.

Back in October, we reported that two Transformers movies might film back to back and star tough guy Jason Statham, replacing Shia LaBeouf. When MTV News spoke with Statham at the Toronto International Film Festival, he claimed to be clueless of any such talk.

"You know, I don't know how those things start. You read them. Someone told me about it. [But] the internet is a dangerous place," he said. "There's a lot of stuff out there."

What do you think? Who else could the mysterious "J.S." be? Is there truth in the tweets, or just more bird-brained banter?
