John Cho still not sure whether he's actually IN Star Trek 2

John Cho, who played Sulu in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot, is just as curious as anyone else to see the script for the sequel.

E! Online caught up with Cho and Anton Yelchin (Chekov) during an awards ceremony held for the Children's Defense Fund in Beverly Hills a few nights ago and asked Cho if he had seen the screenplay for the highly anticipated Star Trek 2 (or whatever it's going to be called).

Cho replied, "I'm sure before we finish shooting, I'll see one. Maybe we'll get a clue tonight. I'd be curious to know whether I'm in it. That'd be the greatest gift bag of all time."

While we're reasonably sure that Cho is in the movie—and it's safe to say he knows that too—he may very well be telling the truth when he says he has not seen the script. After all, when Yelchin was later asked what fans can expect from the new film, he said, "That's a good question. Your guess is good as mine." Sounds like he hasn't had a peek yet either.

Also at the event were Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Alice Eve (new unnamed female character) and Abrams himself, who co-chaired the evening. But none of them were talking, with Abrams only saying, "It was great to read (the script) and get that feeling that you hope to get when you read a script."

Star Trek 2 starts filming in January, with Peter Weller (RoboCop) joining the cast this week and Abrams still looking for someone to play the villain, which the betting money says is Khan. Perhaps Abrams will get copies of the script out to his cast before cameras roll so they can get "that feeling" too.

Do you think the cast members have not actually seen the script yet? Or are they just following their director's lead and being ultra-secretive?
