Game of Thrones (but not Fringe?) gets some SAG award love

The awards season is in full swing! The Screen Actors Guild has announced its nominees for the best TV performances of 2011. Game of Thrones and American Horror Story snagged nominations in two of the biggest categories, while a few sci-fi shows were missing in action. Can you guess which?

This year, genre television got little to no love from the Screen Actors Guild. HBO's Game of Thrones and True Blood, FX's American Horror Story and Starz' Spartacus Gods of the Arena were the only shows that got recognized. Thrones scored a nomination for Drama Series—Ensemble and Stunt Ensemble. Spartacus and True Blood also earned Stunt Ensemble mentions, and American Horror Story's Jessica Lange is nominated for Drama Series—Female Actor.

Sean Bean was snubbed for his amazing portrayal of Eddard Stark on Game of Thrones, and once again John Noble and Fringe got the shaft. Fringe's last season was arguably its best, and not only did Noble knock it out of the park, but Anna Torv brought her A-game as well. And NBC's red-headed step-show Community, has once again been left out in the cold. What happened?
