3 magical new Doctor Who clips give us our Xmas present early

'Tis the season for getting stuffed with too much turkey and pies, for giving (and, most importantly, receiving) presents, for singing Christmas carols, for drinking too much eggnog and other alcoholic beverages, and so on. But it is, above all else, the season for Doctor Who's highly anticipated Christmas special!

Three brand-new preview clips have been released by the BBC in celebration of its upcoming Christmas special episode ''The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe.''

The first hilarious clip shows our beloved Doctor (Matt Smith, who is, as always, in fine comedic form here) welcoming his bewildered house guests ... Who wouldn't be?

''Fairy Land!? Oh grow up, Lily! Fairy Land looks completely different.'' The second clip, which takes place in Narnia Not-in-Fairy-Land, introduces a hint of suspense and some pretty cool icicles.

The third clip features the widow of the story, Madge Arwell (Claire Skinner, Outnumbered). If this clip does one thing, its that it proves that wearing wool can be extremely dangerous in the world of Doctor Who.

Written by Steven Moffat, the Doctor Who Christmas special ''The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe'' will air Christmas Day.
