Spoiler alert! Is this the Dark Knight Rises prologue?

Want to find out one possible description of what the prologue to The Dark Knight Rises will contain? Then keep reading ... but beware of spoilers ahead.

England's Total Film has what it says is a breakdown of what exactly we will see in the opening six minutes of director Christopher Nolan's third and final Bat-epic. As previously reported, the IMAX sequence will focus on supervillain Bane (Tom Hardy). But will Bane be doing?

Total Film's source says:

Bane and his mercenaries hijack a military plane transporting a dictator of a country which is in unrest (think Saddam Hussein type figure). He successfully kills the leader, but makes some mistakes along the way and is unable to safely land the plane.

Because of the resulting injuries from the accident, he has to undergo complicated surgeries and that is how he winds up with that scar down his neck and the need for the mask to numb the pain.

The source also reveals how Nolan has "re-imagined" the brutish Bane's origin story:

He is raised by Ra's al Ghul (Bruce Wayne's old mentor) and his upbringing mirrors that of Bruce Wayne. It's a mirror of Bruce, except it's darker and twisted.

Bane is trained to be an assassin for the League of Shadows. He kills political figures that are deemed unfit by the LOS. So he is a bit of a Che Guevara/Jason Bourne type character.

That all sounds plausible, based on what we've heard before, and it fits with the rumored scenario of Bane and the League coming to Gotham to take down Batman and finish destroying the city as Ra's intended to do back in Batman Begins.

We'll see if this all rings true when the prologue debuts in front of IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol next month. But in the meantime, does that prologue and origin story work for you?
