It's time to get up close and personal with Prometheus. Five new production photos have debuted, and they scream sci-fi! They've got explorers in space suits, high-tech ships and even an android played by the amazing Michael Fassbender. What's not to love?
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features an exclusive first look at Ridley Scott's Prometheus. We get a sneak peek at the major players in the cast, which includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.
Here's a piece of the film's official (but vague) plot synopsis:
"Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."
The photos definitely play up the futuristic-yet-ancient aspect of the story. Seriously, what's up with those stones? We can't wait to see the first trailer for the film, which is rumored to debut fairly soon. Hopefully live-action footage will give us more answers.
On a side note, are we the only ones who think Charlize Theron looks like Susan Storm in her photo? Twentieth Century Fox produced both Prometheus and Fantastic Four—they need to make that casting happen.

Prometheus hits theaters June 8.
