Part of why we love Doctor Who is the show's copious amounts of silliness, so it seems reasonable to assume that some of that silliness would transfer over to behind the scenes of the show. Now, we have proof (in video form) that the behind-the-scenes silliness is actually even sillier than we imagined. Behold David Tennant's Doctor leading the cast and crew in a glorious rendition of the Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)"!
The video was prepared as wrap party entertainment for Tennant and showrunner Russell T Davies' final turns as star and executive producer, but it's way cooler than a little goodbye video. Everyone's in it. Everyone!
Tennant lip-syncs and marches alongside John Simm as the Master and former 007 Timothy Dalton in a full Gallifreyan robe. Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Hardwicke pop up too. The cast members aren't the only stars. The prop department pops up, the FX guys, the costume gals and dozens of others all appear, in a variety of odd and often hilarious situations. And at the end, there's a pair of very special guests. ...
This video isn't just fun. It teaches us something very important about the physiology of our favorite Doctor Who aliens: namely, the Ood can dance.
