Out with the old, in with the new is the motto for the seventh season on Supernatural. The CW series returns this week and features a loopy Sam, a frustrated Dean and a badass Castiel. Everyone's favorite angel has gone rogue.
"The Castiel you knew is gone!" That's what Sam and Dean's former ally says after they ask for his help. In Supernatural's premiere episode, "Meet the New Boss," Castiel has gone through some serious changes and his priorities have shifted drastically.
There's a lot of bad blood among the demon-hunting group, with Castiel being the man scorned. His portrayer Misha Collins doesn't think Castiel really cares for the Winchesters anymore, especially Sam. He says, "No, he wants Sam to suffer for a while. Sam's basically f---ed." Yeesh! Has Castiel gone completely insane? Will he ever return to his old self? Collins says he hopes so.
"I've grown affectionate for him and developed an affinity for him over the years, and of course I probably identify with him more than anyone," says Collins. "I definitely want him to be redeemed. I love him; of course I want to see that."
We all want to see that ... but will we?
Supernatural premieres Friday, Sept 23.
