Watch the emotional prequel to Doctor Who's 'Hitler' episode

Who hasn't wanted to kill Hitler? Movies and TV have put their alternate-reality stamp on his death for years, and now it seems everyone's favorite Time Lord is doing that same thing.

After the midseason finale "A Good Man Goes to War," buzz has been building for the second half season premiere episode "Let's Kill Hitler." Now the BBC has released a short "prequel" video to curb fan hunger of the upcoming episode, which will follow the desperate search for Melody Pond.

In the prequel video the Doctor receives an emotional call from Amy Pond. The call is in reference to him finding her child, who grows up to become River Song. The video shows the Doctor sadly listening to Pond's message before it previews the next episode about Hitler.

In "Let's Kill Hitler," the TARDIS crash-lands in 1930s Berlin, bringing the Doctor face to face with one of the greatest war criminals in the universe, including none other than Hitler. Time travel has responsibilities, and the Doctor teaches his companions a harsh lesson during one the cruelest wars of all time. The episode will screen first at BFI, on Friday, Aug. 26, at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, and will debut Saturday, Aug. 27, on BBC America.
