It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a Man of Steel casting call revealing plot details!

We've had some tasty tidbits trickling out of the production of Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, Man of Steel, but with shooting about to begin in Vancouver, a leaked casting call has provided what is so far the clearest take on the movie's overall plot. It's fairly detail-free, but if you want to go in completely clean, these could be considered SPOILERS.

At any rate, it looks like we're dealing with an origin story this time around, with previous insinuations that much of the movie will be about how the people of the world react to a super-powerful alien appearing in their midst bearing out as true. Here's the official word:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Will Superman be able to defeat Nuclear Man and rid the world of weapons of mass destruction once and for all? No, wait—that was Superman IV: The Quest For Peace. Well, WHATEVER. It sounds like Superman's own potential as a WMD will come into question in Man of Steel, and we may have met the film's villain, and it is us.
