Tintin (really!) is the most exciting trailer we've seen this year

The full-length trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn has been released. You don't want to see Tintin because it's directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson. You don't want to see it because it's written by Steven Moffatt, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. You want to see it because it's awesome.

Within seconds of watching the trailer, we brushed past the fact that it was filmed in motion-capture and reveled in how much action, adventure and fun we get in almost two and a half minutes. The Adventures of Tintin won't be released in the United States until Dec. 23, 2011. We'll be waiting.

Fun fact: Spielberg has been trying to make a Tintin movie since 1984, when he first officially optioned the rights to the comic book.

Not-so-fun fact: Belgian author Herge (the pseudonym for author Georges Prosper Remi) wrote The Secret of the Unicorn during the Nazi occupation of Belgium.
