Steve Niles' Remains brings talking (yes, talking!) zombies to TV

It looks like AMC won't be the only cable station bringing zombies to its lineup this autumn. Chiller TV is set to broadcast an adaptation of Remains, based on the Steve Niles comic of the same name. And if you think this will be just another zombie franchise, we've got the feeling you're dead wrong.

The original story is set in Reno and pairs ups a blackjack dealer and an exotic dancer as they face off against the zombie horde. While most stories involving the shambling undead are all about how humans ultimately turn on one another in a crisis and leave the zombies as more set pieces than characters, Remains goes a different route—talking zombies. If the TV series remains faithful to the source material, we'll be seeing what is nothing short of a zombie evolution.

There's a lot of potential in a story like that, especially for zombie fans who are in search of some fresh meat. Don't take our word for it, though. Check out the trailer for yourself and then tell us what you think.
