Karen Gillan WILL return for more Doctor Who next season

Do you love Doctor Who's companion Amy Pond? We hope you do, because in that case, we have some awesome news: Karen Gillan will be back for another round of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey madness next season!

The 23-year-old actress confirmed the news to Zap2It during Comic-Con's red carpet yesterday.

"I am going to come back, yes," Gillan said. "That's the first time I've said that today!"

Gillan will be back alongside Doctor Who star Matt Smith, whose return has already been confirmed a while back.

Up until now, it was still unclear whether the redheaded actress would return to the series for another year, especially when it was revealed she'd been cast in Inadmissible Evidence, an upcoming West End revival of the John Osborne play.

With Amy Pond back in the TARDIS for a third season, it means she'll have had the longest run as a companion yet since the series' return in 2005—if you recall, Rose (Billie Piper) traveled with the Doctor for two seasons, while Martha (Freema Agyeman) and Donna (Catherine Tate) only stayed on for one season each.

What do you think? Are you happy Karen Gillan's coming back?
