TV THIS WEEK: Teen Wolf howls, Doctor Who gets doubled and more!

While the week is still looking pretty slim for original offerings, summer does officially kick off with MTV's werewolf series Teen Wolf this Sunday. We also get the second half of a Doctor Who two-parter featuring two Doctors (which is never a bad thing), and Syfy's original movie, Red Faction: Origins, brings the videogame to life.

Also, Syfy's Ghost Hunters returns with a special episode that takes TAPS to Pearl Harbor, the new paranormal series Haunted Collector premieres and attempts to make you afraid of your stuff, Hollywood Treasure is back and on the hunt for Robbie the Robot and Terminator memorabilia, National Geographic takes a look at the Death of a Mars Rover, Morgan is up to more tricks in Camelot, and Ned's capture causes problems in Game of Thrones.

Here's what we have to look forward to this week on sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal TV.

Wednesday, June 1

Ghost Hunters (Syfy) 8 p.m. - "Pearl Harbor Phantoms"

Special episode! The TAPS team returns for the first investigation of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with Destination Truth's Josh Gates joining the hunt. They'll delve into paranormal claims at the Pacific Aviation Museum, where the museum's original plane hangars stand as they did on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Visitors and employees have reported many ghostly experiences in the hangars, which still have the bullet holes and bomb craters from that fateful day.

Haunted Collector (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Haunted Bayou/Library Ghost"

New series! A family of paranormal investigators, led by John Zaffis, hunt down haunted objects that cause trouble for the people who own them.

Hollywood Treasure (Syfy) 10 & 10:30 p.m. - "Packrats, Robots and Oz" and "Endoskeletons in the Closet"

All new episodes! Joe Maddalena is back on the hunt for valued collectibles from the movies and television for his auction house. In the first episode, he locates the original Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet and finds original props from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Then he makes amazing finds at a warehouse owned by special-effects legend Stan Winston and digs into whether a plane on top of a bar might be from a James Bond movie.

King Arthur learns of a plot to attack Bardon Pass and heads with his men to defend it. Meanwhile, the shape-shifting Morgan goes after Merlin. This is the final episode before the season-one finale. Think there will be a season two?

Doctor Who (BBC America) 9 p.m. - "The Almost People"

Here's a preview and a sneak peek:

Red Faction: Origins (Syfy) 9 p.m.

A Syfy Original Movie! In a story that falls between the 2009 hit game Red Faction: Guerrilla and the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon, the battle for Mars rages on as Jake Mason (Brian J. Smith) embarks on a mission to take down those who murdered his mother and kidnapped his sister. The movie stars Stargate Universe's Smith, T2's Robert Patrick, Battlestar Galactica's Kate Vernon and Torchwood's Gareth David-Lloyd.

Game of Thrones (HBO) 9 p.m. - "The Pointy End"

After Ned is captured, Syrio and Arya battle against the Lannister guards. Meanwhile, Robb prepares for war against Tywin Lannister by gathering the Stark allies, and Daenerys has doubts about her quest for power when the Dothraki attack a peaceful village. Only two episodes to go before the big season-one finale.

Here's a look:

Teen Wolf (MTV) 11 p.m. after the MTV Movie Awards 2011 - "Pilot"

Series premiere! A teen named Scott (Tyler Posey) and his best friend go into the woods one night to see if they can find the dead body of a young woman, and Scott suffers a vicious bite by what he thinks might have been a wolf. Suddenly Scott realizes that his body is changing and he can do things he's never been able to do before, like suddenly become the star of his lacrosse team. Scott is turning into a werewolf, and as if that isn't bad enough, he's also drawn to the new girl in town, who just happens to be the local werewolf hunter's daughter.

Forget the show's title. This series runs more along the lines of The Vampire Diaries than the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie. The second half of the premiere airs on Monday, June 6, at 10 p.m., in Teen Wolf's regular timeslot.
