It's been a couple of months since we last heard anything about that planned Highlander reboot—until now. Justin Lin, who's fresh off Fast Five and who'll next direct Terminator 5, says the plan to bring back the Scottish Immortal is still very much alive and kicking.
Recently speaking with MTV, Lin revealed that the Highlander reboot was still a high priority on his list:
"I've been working with [Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway] on the script. That's one where Summit has been really good [about letting it develop], and for me, it's about making sure that we can take it to the place where I feel comfortable and great about making it. I feel like I have a very good studio and team and we're working on it."
So the question on everybody's lips is: When should we expect to once again see a kilted Connor MacLeod roaming the Scottish countryside whilst beheading other immortals and bellowing, "There can be only one"? Well, there's nothing on that yet, since Lin is a very, very busy guy:
"I have different projects at different stages. You work on so many projects all at once, and at some point, you have to make the call. I feel like right now, Highlander is in pretty good shape, but I still have to see all the other things come together for us to go make it."
So should we take bets as to which movie will make it to screen first? T5, Highlander or, perhaps, a very probable Fast and Furious 6?
Place your bets!
