It's official: Chuck gets a 5th season (but The Event is history)

Chuck fans can breathe a sigh of relief. NBC has officially picked up Chuck for a 13-episode final season, while canceling The Event.

While there's no word on when that final season of Chuck will air, at least the producers will get a chance to give the accidental spy a chance to go out with a bang.

As for The Event—which premiered to great ratings, but went into free fall after a three-month hiatus—there's some possible good news on the horizon. The series is being shopped around to other networks.

"We have a dedicated fan base, and we promised them we will deliver one way or another and will continue to tell our stories," said creator Nick Wauters.

Yesterday, NBC picked up the Inception-style thriller, Awake, and Grimm, about a cop who discovers fairy-tale creatures are real. On the other hand, the network passed on David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman.
