New Green Lantern trailer gives first glimpse of the Guardians

With June fast approaching, Warner Bros. has released a new theatrical trailer for its latest comic-book film, Green Lantern, and we're finally getting more of the supporting characters, such as Kilowog, Sinestro, Tomar-Re, Amanda Waller, Senator Hammond and the Guardians.

For the majority of the marketing campaign, Waller and Papa Hammond (Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins) have been M.I.A., so it's good to see them finally getting some screen time. Besides their appearances, the trailer also shows Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) getting some tough love from the veteran members of the Lantern Corps, which includes a mild beat-down from Kilowog.

Plus—Blake Lively's Carol Ferris also appears in the trailer, along with her usual come-hither eyes. We sure hope they give that character more to do than just sit and be supportive. But aside from that, this trailer is the best argument released so far to convince us that they might just pull this baby off.

Green Lantern opens in theaters on June 17, 2011.

What do you think of the new trailer? Are you pumped to see the film?
